Celtic v Arsenal - Paddy Power Preview

After the resounding win at Goodison Park on Saturday, Arsenal find themselves on the road again for another ‘big’ game. This time it's Parkhead in the all-important Champions League Play-off Round, the prize at stake for both clubs is huge and any advantage the Gunners can bring back to the Emirates for the second leg will most likely decide the outcome of this tie.

Paddy Power expect Arsenal to make it through to the Group Stages (2/9) but no team in Europe has gone to Celtic and come away with much, it has been their away form that has let them down. How Arsenal cope with the famous atmosphere will be interesting, the crowd there really does give Celtic a 12th man.

14/5 Celtic Win
23/10 Draw
Evens Arsenal Win

After his man of the match display at the weekend Cesc Fabregas is the subject of Paddy Power’s Money-Back Special for the first leg. If Fabregas scores at anytime in 90 minutes Paddy Power will refund all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast bets on the match.

Of course Arsenal will take confidence from their opening day win but Champions League nights at Celtic Park are very different from a Premier League game at Goodison Park. Celtic know how important this competition is to their fans and will be in the faces of the Arsenal team and will surely not give them the amount of free space Everton did. This season Arsenal fans can look forward to Andrey Arshavin playing in Europe for them and hope that he’ll see them into the next stages of this competition, he’s 7/1 to score the first goal at Celtic Park and 17/1 to score 2 or more goals. Eduardo marked his first Premier League appearance since returning from injury with a goal and he’s 6/1 to score the first and the same price to complete the scoring again.

First Scorer
6/1 Van Persie
6/1 Eduardo
7/1 Arshavin
15/2 Bendtner
11/1 Fabregas
18/1 Diaby
25/1 Denilson

It’s bound to be a tight affair and Arsène Wenger would surely take a score-draw before bringing Celtic down to the Emirates for the second leg. Away goals are crucial in these two-legged Champions League games and should Arsenal get one of these then the balance of power will be firmly in their favour.

Correct Score
11/2 Arsenal 1-0
7/1 Arsenal 2-0
8/1 Arsenal 2-1
14/1 Arsenal 3-0
14/1 Arsenal 3-1

17/2 0-0
5/1 1-1
12/1 2-2

Paddy Power will be offering in-running betting on this match along with every other Arsenal match this season, where you can bet after the match has started and you’ve got a better feeling of how the game is going to play out.
